2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE vs 2018 Audi Q5

Luxury SUVs like the 2018 Audi Q5 offer Loomis drivers a way to add a little more comfort and convenience to the daily drive, thanks to amenities like leather seating, power moonroof, premium materials, and advanced infotainment technology. In many ways, however, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE is a better choice. The GLE offers more of the standard luxury features drivers want, up to 20 cubic feet of additional cargo space, and an efficient, powerful hybrid engine that handles any commute with aplomb. See how these two titans stack up, then contact Mercedes-Benz of Rocklin to learn how affordable financing your new GLE can be.

While the Audi Q5 offers just one engine option – a 252-hp 2.0L turbocharged TFSI motor with the capability to tow 4,400 pounds – the Mercedes-Benz GLE provides far more. The 2019 GLE can be equipped with either a 3.5L gasoline V6 powerplant capable of generating 302-hp and providing as much as 7,200 pounds of towing capability, or an efficient 3.0L V6 biturbo gasoline/electric hybrid motor capable of 436-hp and as much as 4,410 pounds of towing capability.

Both the Audi and the Mercedes-Benz allow drivers to connect to content on the go, but there are some measurable differences in the equipment available. While the GLE features a fully integrated in-dash interface that is as intuitive as it is attractive, the Audi’s standard system resembles a tablet attached to the dash above the vents. The standard functionality of the GLE system is greater as well, with features like Vehicle Location System, Emergency SOS, Stolen Vehicle Tracking, and Internet Service on every trim. The Audi offers these features, but drivers will have to pay extra for them.

To make driving easier and safer, the GLE offers standard and available features that act as another set of eyes, such as an available rear electronic parking aid and intelligent cruise control, which monitors the vehicles ahead and automatically adjusts the SUVs speed, preventing an accidental collision should traffic slow down. These features, aren’t available on many of the Q5 trims, forcing drivers to upgrade and spend more – if they can find them at all.

The commute to Roseville can be stressful, but the Mercedes-Benz GLE makes it less so with appealing touches like the driver and front passenger heated massage seats with memory, and a reclining feature that can be adjusted to allow occupants of any shape and size to relax in comfort. This level of luxury isn’t available on the Q5 – if you want a massage, you’ll have to pay extra to have it installed.
